It’s increasingly clear that Deon Fourie’s heartwarming, late-career-triggered Springbok journey hasn’t quite reached the end-point baggage claim in the terminal yet.

Why would the supremely tireless, 37-year-old openside flank be obediently adhering to a mandatory sit-out order for certain Stormers internationals in the important derby crunch against the Sharks in Durban on Saturday week if he wasn’t planning on representing the green and gold cause again in 2024?

He is currently meeting rest requirements on that front, among various Boks countrywide, ahead of the URC’s resumption over the weekend of 16-18 February.
