AKA’s new single off his upcoming album, Mass Country, has been released.
The rapper, real name Kiernan Forbes, was shot and killed in Durban on Friday, 10 February. Following his death, the Forbes family confirmed that his latest music offering would be released as planned.
“The family continues to celebrate the life of their son. To honour his legacy, they are choosing to continue with the release of the Mass Country album on 24 February 2023 as planned,” reads the statement.
In keeping with AKA’s roll-out plan, the rapper’s single Company, which features long-time collaborator and friend Kiddominant, was released on Friday.
The song was recorded during AKA’s holiday in Los Angeles in January.

A memorial service to honour AKA will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre on Friday at 15:00. The rapper will then be laid to rest in a private funeral on Saturday.
